Hiking in Grindelwald

Day hikes (hiking map)

Pfingsteggbahn - Bäregg 1.5 hours. (Walk Nr: 2)

From the mountain station of Pfingstegg Cable-Car you reach the Berghaus Bäregg on a well-maintained hiking trail in about 1.5 hours. For a while you have a good look down to Grindelwald before the mountains play the leading role. The beautifully landscaped footpath leads along the Mättenberg, high above the gorge of the Lower Grindelwald glacier. The ice has pulled back during the last decades. Because the rock masses lost stability, a large rockslide from the eastern flank of the Eiger occurred a few years ago.

Experience the walk with the App Clima Guide. At seven stopping points you get very exciting and interesting facts about the changes from the Lower Grindelwald Glacier.

After hiking waits for children the tobogganing fun!

Before the trail leads down to the valley, he will rise again to Marmorbruch and then to the Berghaus Bäregg.
